Visa Info: A visa entry is required in Malawi for almost all nationalities. You can get it contacting the different embassies from Malawi. (I contacted the one in London)

License Info: The licenses are issued by MACRA (Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority). Their web page is: http://www.macra.org.mw/ The license application form is at: http://www.macra.org.mw/radioapp.htm I strongly recommend not to try to apply for the license via e-mail. It takes too long. About the callsign: you can choose the suffix you like, as long as it's never been used before. You must fill it and send it by fax along with a copy of your license and visa

Resort: The resort is located by the South coast of Lake Malawi Near Salima city. I did not have any problem at all to set the antennas up. In fact, the resort crew put them up for me! The large garden allows to set different antennas. The owner of the resort was ex-ZC4 and likes this hobby a lot. Accommodation is in a kind of bungalow with spacious rooms. No problem for electric power or even telephone (internet).

Equipment: At the resort I left behind around 150m. of RG-27 coax cable, a 2 elem. beam for 10m. band, a 40 amp power supply and several plug adaptors just to make life easier to future HAM visitors.

Equipment: Richard M5RIC wrote the following in 4/2004
7Q7MM operated from here for 2 weeks in April/May 2004, our website has a full list of equipment that we left - http://www.malawi.digital-crocus.com/Inventory.php for other hams to use. We all had individual rooms and used the area in front of 2 of them for our shack(3 stations). More information can be found on the 7Q7MM website including photo's and contact info.

Advice: Remember to bring mosquito-repeller !!!
