Ham Friendly Hotel: Cabanas de S.Jorge Village. This place has been used by several
contesters and DXpeditions. A double room costs about $50 USD per night. There
is space for antennas. Good opening to North America and Europe but slightly
worse in other directions. The hotel is on the northern coast of Madeira (the

This is a very nice clean property. My XYL and I were the only ones there at the time. There are 3 B&B rooms and we had the top floor. I was giving permission to go up on the roof to string a multi-band dipole and I made about 250 Q's over the 5 days operating only 3 or 4 hours per day. This is a modest price B&B and the owner is very nice. There are pictures on the posted website. You might mention the couple from Iowa that were ham operators as we were one of the few USA ...let alone ham customers they had ever had stay with them.
