Ham Friendly Hotels: The following information was from the OH2MCN web site (1997/8):
There are a couple of reasonable (but very
expensive) hotels in Luanda. Most of them allow you to set up antennas (or at
least hang wire antennas). Hotel Emperio (the QTH where D2EGH-D3X operated
from) is ham-friendly, relatively cheap (US$80/night), have a generator, good
food, is clean and safe.
Notes:
- TVI in the city of Luanda is almost a given fact. Keep a low profile
- Luanda is not a safe city. Again, keep a low profile
- Be careful if you have an HT with you. Policemen or military like HTs
