Background Information

St Paul is essentially a deserted island, and should only be attempted by experienced Dxpeditioners.
A DXpedition MUST obtain a Land Use License from the Canadian Coast Guard. You must have a $2 Million general liability insurance policy for the group in order for Coast Guard to issue the Land Use License. The team needs to charter a local fisherman from Bay St. Lawrence or Dingwall, Nova Scotia to provide transport. This is a camping-only trip as operation from existing buildings is prohibited by Coast Guard.
The weather has a MAJOR influence on any
DXpedition to this island, and will impact health, safety, and make for
dangerous landing or departures. Island is about 15 miles from the Northern tip
of Nova Scotia in the Cabot Strait. To access the island, you must land in a
small dory (boat) and climb the cliffs to get on the island.
