I can confirm that the QTH used by Josep, EA3BT, is still available. The "Village de Tartane" is a complex of "bungalows" in six blocks, surrounding a pool and on the edge of the ocean. An irregular (L-shaped) piece of ground (approximately 60m by 10m maximum) virtually on the beach is available for antennas. There are some trees, but only around 6-8m high. However, a simple quarter-wave vertical with a few radials worked remarkably well for me in December 2001. The rooms are designed for two people, having bathroom and basic kitchen facilities, and are around US$50 per night in the "low" season. Best rooms, with shortest feeder runs, are E1, E2 and E4. The staff were puzzled by my activities, but quite sympathetic. A knowledge of French is very useful -- English is not widely spoken. More information at www.g3sqx.net

Villa Specialist – I worked with a villa specialist from IslandTrips.com 800-823-2002; 410-692-2093 or Fax 410-692-9579.  Ask for Melanie – her father is a ham, and she has worked with hams before in renting locations on 8P, FM, J6, FS, and VP5.  I have no commercial interest in this company, but they have worked with hams before, which is an advantage.  They also work with a ticket consolidator for cheap tickets.  De K2KW, 27 Sept 2000
