Ham Friendly Hotel on Utila Island (IOTA NA-057).
The following provided by Rick, W7AV in June 2005
Hotel Name: Slumberland Villas www.slumberlandutila.com
Comments: Located on the Island of Utila (NA-057), part of the Bay Islands
which includes Roatan Island. This is a much smaller island than Roatan,
very low key and a lot cheaper. Friendly people. English is widely
spoken. Credit cards and travelers checks are NOT accepted at most
places.
Slumberland has 2 Villa's right on the water built
in 2004. Very ham friendly owners. 110v AC with standard US
outlets. No 220v. A lot of room for a station and antennas. No
trees for antennas but verticals can go right in the water or on the
deck. This info is compliments of KB7TX.

Note from Ray, WQ7R in April 2002:
I stayed in a rental house on the west end of the island. I think there are many other sites on the island. Most of the resorts seem to be interested in having amateur operations from their locations.
Licensing can be done very easy by completing the application on the conatel.com site. I contacted Dr. Mossi at Conatel and his help in getting a license was very helpful. Everything can be done by e-mail and there is no charge for the license.
