Ham Friendly Hotel: Picard Beach Cottage Resort near Portsmouth (north west coast of island). Used by J75T in 1997. 18 wooden-style cottages built in 18th century Dominican style. Set on an old coconut plantation bordered by Dominica's longest beach (nice, but not the prettiest). Each cottage has its own private verandah, kitchen, living and dining area, and private bath.

Ham Friendly Hotel: Sea Cliff Cottages (north coast of island) are a group of 3 self contained cottages located at the edge of a high cliff overlooking the Caribbean. J75KG (K5KG) used this location in July 2000, and Bob, AA1M was there in Feb 2003. But the site is routinely used by hams. The owners live in VE3-land and were very accommodating, as well as their on-site caretakers. The property is 1.5 acres, with lots of lawn area, as well as tall trees.
Good place for both Yagi and wire antennas. K5KG used the 1br cottage, but says the 2br unit is fine for hams too. Electrical power is pretty good, but a 2 hour outage did occur during K5KG's visit. When the power came back on, the voltage spiked, and fried his 110 VAC Isobar plug strip. While not common, the voltage can go down to 205 volts (per the caretaker)… such is electricity on a small island. The 1 BR has a 2kw 110 VAC transformer, so you can run some stuff off 110 VAC in addition to whatever you want on 220 VAC. The 2 BR unit is limited to 220 VAC. Clothes washer on site. Close to beach but down hill from cottages. Very Ham friendly. Reasonably priced. Location is fine. Licensing is easy.
