The ham shack is equipped with an ICOM 756 transceiver, Alpha 91b amplifier, Nye Viking Tuner, keyer with Bencher paddle and headphones. A KAM Kantronics TNC is available for RTTY work. Three rotor controls and a remote antenna switch round-out the HF station. Recently added is a ICOM 706MKIIG (and Yaseau SWR bridge) for VHF contesting or Dxing. (25 countries and WAS was worked from this QTH on 6 meters) Also a computer with color monitor is set up with a connection to phone lines. We have arranged a weekly internet hookup for a nominal fee. This can be arranged with advance notice with a local ISP. The operating desk can accommodate at least 3 operators.
Two towers are home to several HF yagis. On the big 85 foot tower is a KLM 2 element 40 meter beam at 85 feet and a C3E Force 12 tribander at 95 feet. Side mounted at 50 feet that will cover Europe through Japan is another C3E tribander. This antenna makes a good addition for contesting. On the 50 foot tower is a T-8 Tennedyne log periodic that really does well. It's a killer on the WARC bands. 30 meters is available by loading the 75/80 meter sloper. Rounding out the HF bands is a sloper for 75/80 and an 160 meter L antenna using the metal cabin roof as a counterpoise. You'll find the HF antennas really play to Europe, Japan and the Caribbean. Recently added for VHF are M2 beams for 6 and 2 meters on a 3rd- 40 foot tower.
