Ham Friendly Hotel:

The following report from G.F. "Spike" Anderson, w7ava

Date Visited->23/09/02

QTH Name->The Village Hotel www.thevillagehotel.com

Comments->Great trip!! We were put up in a thatched roof cottage (no air conditioning) in an absolutley beautiful environment. Meals were great and not too expensive. Hotel staff were super. They welcome hams and were more than ready to hang my wire antenna. The site is on a forested ridge, not any room for a yagi. No radios or TVs in the room to bother with. I got my license via mail. Next time I'll go back for a contest. 73 Spike W7AVA / V63VB

Ham Friendly Hotel:  Pwohmaria Beach Resort, Pohnpei

Rolf, DK2ZK visited in July 2002, and updated in 04/2004:

Our air conditioned bungalow was close to the waterline just 20mtrs. Best hut is 3A, which has good air conditioning. Good for XYL for swimming - no tides - excellent for vertical antennas. I put a vertical direct at lagoon with just 20m cable length. Good position for a 84m windom ( worked UA3 on 80mtrs).  Good free take off for AO-40 operations to Europe. Also good to US to the east. A lot of space for longwires verticals and beams. DISKOS restaurant direct on the Resort, just another 30 mtrs away. NO QRM or QRN. So great for amateur radio that we will be back in April 2004  73 de V63ZF/DK2ZF
