Antennas - Force12 C-3 triband yagi, M2 6M7JHV 7-element 6m yagi and Alpha Delta all band dipole. Equipment - Kenwood TS-850SAT with complete set of CW filters, Kenwood PS-50 13.8v DC power supply and Bencher BY-1 iambic paddle. The line voltage is 115V 60Hz, just like the United States.

Guido limits his operation to 100W max so as to keep peace with the neighbors.

If you wish to operate SSB at night during your stay, please request the "Albatross" Room so as not to disturb the other guests.

Ham Friendly Hotel - The Galapagos Hotel on Island Santa Cruz. A number of operations have been staged from this hotel. Some nice photos from one operation can be found on Bert, PA3GIO's web page at: http://www.xs4all.nl/~pa3gio/HC8/. Note: Bert says that there was very bad line noise when he stayed at the Galapagos Hotel… it was difficult to make QSOs. For example, the noise was S7 on 15m. If the line noise gets fixed, then it is a good location.

Helping Ham: Bert says that another possibility is to ask Henry Schaefer HC8KU if you can use his station. Henry's station is on Isla Santa Cruz. He told Bert that he welcomes HAM's ! No Local noise at his QTH he said to me, I was in his shack this year (2000). Henry's house is not a seaside location. Email Henry at: hc8ku@casvernet.net
